Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it Scripture Reference: Malachi 3:10 (AMP)

When you bring your tithe in obedience to God’s Word, He promises to pour out blessings so enormous that there will be no room to contain it. When you tithe in your local church, you allow God to supercharge His blessings over your finances. It enables Him to increase your finances in ways that you would never expect. On the other hand, when you choose not to pay your tithe, you rob God and you also rob yourself because God will withhold His blessings.

Your tithe is your shield or protection; it brings protection over what you own. When you choose to “eat” your tithe, you become an easy target to the devil because you are not protected. There are people who come to church with nothing, and then God blesses them. They pay their tithe faithfully at first, but then they get overcommitted with responsibilities along the way that they move away from honouring the One who blessed them. When you do that, you are only heaping curses upon your life as well as upon your family. You are actually worse than a sinner who is outside the church. The Word of God encouraged us to give the first part of our resources to the Lord as an expression of honour and gratitude (Proverbs 3:9-10).

Learn to honour the Lord with what you have. You are not too rich or too poor to give your tithe. When you choose not to give your tithe, you are not only disrespecting your pastor, you are dishonouring God. The Lord requires you to follow His precepts, instead of going the opposite directions of His commands.

Be disciplined to always put aside your tithe before you do anything with your money, so that you may first honour the Lord with your money and not your debts.
May the Lord continue to open the floodgates of heaven to bless you and your family as you obey Him by bringing your tithe to His storehouse.
