You are called to blessings and prosperity

Many people today are fighting against preachers of the Word of God. They say they are preaching the gospel of prosperity. When I read my Bible, I find that blessings and prosperity are part of what God calls people to. However, there is a tendency by certain people to read and interpret the bible selectively. We cannot add our own views to the Word of God simply because it is fashionable to do so or simply to adapt it to our situations. If we do so we shall be sinning against God. If we do not tell people what their salvation package includes, we will be robbing them of what God wants them to have. God calls us to eternal life which we receive through accepting the Lord Jesus Christ. The new life that we receive in Christ includes blessings and prosperity.

Who is against success?

Generally when you pray for deliverance, evil spirits manifest and complain that they do not want that person who is being prayed for  to succeed and prosper. They will tell you that they are blocking his or her success. This means that the devil is against success and now he has called his own people to go around convincing people that preaching about blessings, success and prosperity is wrong. Those churches that are prospering are labeled as churches of the devil. It is because the enemy is against people enjoying their lives. John 10:10 says “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV. When you suffer, it does not please your Lord but the enemy. I believe we have to preach about everything in the Bible including blessing and prosperity. The Bible covers these things extensively.

God's calling is packaged with success

If we do not tell people that God is calling them to blessings, we will be doing wrong. Blessings are part of God's original plan for man. It starts from the beginning; let us check what is in Genesis 1: 26-28: "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” God Himself, after having made men, started by blessing them! He empowered them to succeed in all things and to be fruitful and multiply. Anyone who is against us talking about blessings is basically against the original plans of God for man and is hence taking the side of the devil. The devil made man to lose all this goodness and God’s favour in the garden of Eden and such people are making sure that we lose our lives and we also lose the goodness and favour of the Lord.

Abraham's calling

“Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3. When you read here, God did not just say Abram come, He coupled the calling with promises of good things; of great prosperity. He said leave your land, your family and everything behind for something much greater than all that. He promised him blessings and prosperity. Abram was promised greatness and fame. He was told that in him all nations of the earth were going to be blessed. God even promised that He was going to bless those who blessed him and curse those who cursed him. The calling was coupled with all those promises. Even today, when we preach about leaving your sins behind and following Christ, we have to tell people about the benefits. Why should we hide all these good things that are found in this good and generous God? We have to tell them that this God will take you out of suffering, He will promote your life and He shall bless you. We must tell them that He will make their names great and He will make them a blessing to others.

God makes rich

In Genesis 13:2, we learn that Abram was rich in livestock, silver and gold. It was the will of God to make him rich and it is still the will of God to make those who follow Him rich. If you are obedient and faith to God like Abraham, what then stops you from receiving riches from God? It is written in the Bible that God is the One who gives power to create wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18).

When you read Genesis 26, the Lord spoke to Isaac that he should not go down to Egypt, and even that instruction was coupled with promises from God if Isaac obeyed. He said that he was going to be with him and bless him. Indeed the Lord made him to receive a huge harvest after he sowed during the time of a famine. What stops you from receiving a huge harvest in your life when there is a famine in it if you are obedient to God? God still wants the church to have plenty even when the economic conditions are not so favorable. He is still the same God who empowers His people to succeed despite all odds. God will make you to flourish even when the currency of your country is not doing well.  In verse 13, we learn that Isaac began to prosper up until he became very prosperous! Child of God, you are also a candidate for divine prosperity. The following verse says he had flocks just like his father and he had a number of servants. You should become wealthy to a point that you employ others. It is said that the Philistines envied him. Being prosperous is not a sin, it is a blessing.

I pray to God that all who are reading this should be empowered to prosper to a point where outsiders are envious. We see this envy happening today. What was it that made the CRL Rights Commission to investigate South African Churches? When they started they said there were complaints about human rights violations by some pastors, but as it went on we saw that it was not about that as they started getting exposed. They started complaining about the cars pastors are driving and the houses they live in. They then started to want to know how much pastors had in their bank accounts. This was fueled by jealousy and envy. It did not start now, it started in Genesis. The Lord is still going to bless the righteous in a great way and the Philistines shall be envious and they will even try to close up the wells belonging to Christians. They will try by all means to sabotage the church but they will never succeed. They will do everything in their power to destroy us because we are more powerful and successful than they are. When the church of Christ is attacked, it is because it is perceived as a threat as it is more powerful than all the other establishments.

In Genesis 30:43, we learn that even Jacob the grandson of Abraham became exceedingly prosperous. He had large flocks, female and male servants, camels and donkeys. God is a God of blessings and prosperity. Do not be intimidated not to receive your riches. You, like Jacob shall prosper in your chosen field of practice. You shall be a successful business person.  You shall be successful in whatever profession you are in. Your stock shall increase. What will stop you from having male and female employees? What are the camels and donkeys of today? These are your vehicles for business and for private use. Let the will of God prevail over your life.
When we look at the life of King David, God also made him rich and successful. Let us look at his son King Solomon. When we read II Chronicles 1:15, I Kings 10:27, we learn that King Solomon made silver and gold to be as common as stones in Israel. The God who enriched King Solomon like that is our God. Is He unable to do it in your life today? There is nothing too hard for Him. He can do anything  and at any time in your life. He can lift you up from the dust and promote you in a way that will amaze everyone who sees it. He does exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond our dreams, expectations and thoughts.

We are blessed to bless

God blessed Abraham and He made him a blessing. Through him nations of the earth are blessed. Your obedience will result into you bringing others to Christ. Others will see you blessed and they will want to follow you as you follow Christ. Others will be relieved of their suffering when you share with them what God has given for you. When you finance the kingdom, many will come to Christ as a result of your giving. Through Christ we are connected to the blessings of Abraham and we need to bless others. It is said that those who believe are children of Abraham (Galatians 3:7), and those of faith are blessed along with Abraham (Galatians 3:9). Your belief and your faith shall take you far.

The Lord delivers and provides

God decided to take Israel out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land, Canaan. On the way, He protected them. He made sure that they did not die of hunger. Their clothes did not get worn out. He made water to come out of a rock for them to drink. He provided manna and meat while they were in the desert. Even today, when the Lord delivers us from the hands of the devil, He leads us to a good life. Before we reach paradise, He takes care of all our needs. When you have accepted Him, God is able to rain manna upon your life. May the miraculous provisions that you never imagined comes upon your life! God is still the same God even today.

When we read Deuteronomy 8, Moses spoke to Israel about the land which God was taking them to. That it was a good and spacious land. God wants His children to have a good life. He is a loving Father who takes care of His children. Moses outlined what they were going to find in Canaan. “For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you. “Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest— when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied." Deuteronomy 8:7-13.NKJV.
When you read this you are able to see that God wanted them to have every good thing here on earth. He wanted them to be wealthy and He wanted them to enjoy the earth's produce. He did not want them to lack anything. They were supposed to eat and be full and to have variety at their tables. What stops God today from providing buffets every day at your table? Your family has to enjoy plenty. Just not forget the Lord when you are enjoying His provisions! When you look at it here, physical food is mentioned. God wants you to eat well. As you are reading here, I say May God bless your grocery cupboards and your refrigerator. Let there be plenty of food in your house. Let your fields produce plenty for you to eat. By that I mean your source of income, be it your job or your business. It is the will of God for you to enjoy life. It is His will for you to build mansions and stay in them. It is His will for you to have the silver and the gold. Just do not forget Him.

When we go to Deuteronomy 28, we find the blessings outlined for those who obey. Israel was again promised success for obedience and curses for disobedience. Even you, if you have received Jesus and are obedient to the Lord, these blessings apply to your life. Verse 1 says God shall set you high above all nations of the earth. You should expect to be above your peers. Verse 2 talks of blessings that will come and overtake you. This is experienced by those who truly follow Jesus. We are seeing blessings attacking them. It is even overwhelming. I witness life changes that are overwhelming, where a person does not even know how to testify.  God's outpouring of blessings is happening today, do not miss it. It is said you will be blessed wherever you are and wherever you go. You shall succeed in everything. Your children shall also be blessed. Your business shall be blessed. Your bank account shall also be blessed. God calls us to good things and in Him there are guarantees. He shall also cause enemies that rise against you to flee in seven directions. They will come to you in one direction and He will scatter them. This is a good life that God has called us to. When He says leave your sins behind, He wants you to position yourself where you can receive all His goodness in this life and in the life to come.

We are the descendants of Abraham

We are descendants through Christ Jesus who died and got those of us who believe to be connected to the promises made to Abraham. “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:27-29 NKJV. When you read this you are able to see that indeed God connected us to the blessings of Abraham through Jesus Christ. We are no longer excluded from what was promised to Abraham. All that was his is now ours as his descendants and heirs. I am seeing God changing many lives, making His people to enjoy what He promised in His Word. We thank Him for all these lives He is changing.

Conclusion

We are called to holiness and this is packaged together with blessings, success and prosperity. Begin to walk in the promises of God and enjoy your life. The Bible says that Jesus became poor so that we can be enriched (2 Corinthians 8:9). He became cursed so that we could be blessed. We need to walk in these blessings and prosper in our souls, in health and materially (3 John 1:2). It is said that if they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure (Job 36:11). Believe this word and be freed from the life of suffering. Your faith and belief in  Christ has benefits. Start enjoying them. If you are not yet saved, receive the Lord Jesus in your life and begin to enjoy His blessings. His plans for our lives are good (Jeremiah 29:11).
