And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. Scripture Reference: Luke 13:13

What is written in the Scripture referred above came about after Jesus healed a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. After receiving her healing , this woman glorified God.

What this woman did is something many people fail to do. In Luke 17:11-19, we are given an account of ten lepers whom Jesus healed. However, out of the ten, only one went back and glorified God. Many people get delivered or blessed, but they make a mistake of not glorifying God with what He did in their lives. People only want to receive from God. They treat God like an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). They only see God as a machine that dispenses blessings. How many people left their church after they have received their blessings? How many people leave their church if they see that nothing is happening in their lives?

Do not build your faith or life on your blessings, but on the Word of God. The Word of God shall stand forever even when blessings are not yet evident, but material things last only for a moment. Many people chase after things that are not lasting instead of chasing after God. Jesus said we should seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else shall follow (Matthew 6:33).

Child of God, the Lord heals or blesses you so that His name can be glorified. He blesses you so that other people may benefit from your blessings. God straightens you so that your nation, family and community can benefit. We learn in the Bible that while Lazarus was having dinner with Jesus, many people came to see whether he was indeed resurrected from the dead, as a result many believed in Jesus because of Lazarus' resurrection (John 12:1-2,9-11). Lazarus' presence around Jesus was a living testimony to God and glorified Him.
