Fight for your faith, stand against deception
“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:3-4 NKJV.
When reading what is written above, we are able to see that our faith is very important and it needs to be defended. We need to fight for it and we need to wrestle against those who are sent to steal what we have. The writer expresses that he wanted to write about other things regarding salvation but he was compelled to write to encourage the saints to fight for their faith.
Why do we need to fight?
When you become a Christian, you join the army of Christ. You become a soldier. The salvation you have received is something the devil and his demons will never allow you to enjoy. Satan does not want you to follow Christ and enjoy life. He wants you to lose your salvation and then perish. He will send you his own army to come and wrestle with you so that you lose what you have. Jesus says in Revelation 3:11, "I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one will take your crown”. There is some holding on to be done and there is also some wrestling to be done in order to maintain one's faith.
The enemy will use men to bring you down
We are told in the book of Jude that there are men amongst us whose condemnation was written a long time ago. These men, are doomed for death. They will not change and they are there to make sure that even others lose their salvation. They however do not appear to us like people who are there to destroy us. They secretly join the church of Christ or they start churches in the name of Christ. According to the Message version, they infiltrate the ranks. In other words, they will come and join the church in pretense that they are one with us. They then work very hard to be in positions of influence. Once they are there, they destroy people in the church. Such people pervert the grace of the Lord. They use it as a license to sin. They also encourage others to sin. What we read from this book of Jude is that they will never escape the wrath of God. Like the angels who rebelled in heaven and the Israelites who grumbled against God, they will also be punished for their sins. Do not allow these condemned people to lead you to the pit of hell. When you are in the church, beware of such people. You will see them, they are not afraid of talking bad about holy things. They find fault with everything in the church and they try to influence others against authority. They are like Koran, Dathan and Abiram who not only rebelled against Moses, the chosen of God, but they also influenced others to rebel against his authority. Their fate is already sealed and they do not want to die alone. You should beware of these Judas Iscariots and tell them to go die alone. When you see such people, stay away from them. Contend to keep your faith.
Wolves clothed in sheepskins
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Matthew 7:15-20. Jesus knew that there will be false prophets even in our time who will pretend to be Christians in order to deceive many. They come pretending to be good whereas they are not. They start churches which are synagogues of the devil at the same time deceiving many. We have to fight to protect our salvation. Let us not allow ourselves to be robbed and be killed by these wolves. If a person says he is sent by God and at the same time he is busy sinning, that is a sign that he is a liar. There are people who attend churches where leaders are liars, thieves and adulterers. When you see such bad fruits, you should know that that is a bad tree and you have to run for your life.
Many are no longer looking for sound doctrine
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." II Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV. We are living in those days where many people do not care about the truth anymore. People go around looking for those preachers who will tell them what they want to hear. They want to hear that they will be rich and they will be healed despite them living sinful lives. They want to be told that it shall be well with them even though they are not obeying the Word of God. People no longer want to be taught about repentance. People are fascinated with being prophesied. They like churches where only prophesies about their lives are made instead of being taught about salvation. The truth is Jesus wants you to repent and He wants you to inherit eternal life. The good life of the Lord needs to be maintained through holy living.
Do not allow everyone to lay hands on you
When you read Joseph Menete's testimony you learn how people are deceived by devil worshippers who are acting as prophets and pastors in churches. They speak in the name of Jesus and they are busy spreading demons. Allowing every person to lay hands on you is very dangerous. Protect your head; protect your life. People are so desperate today they no longer test the spirits. They run around from one church to another wanting to be prayed for by different people. They ultimately fall into the hands of the workers of the devil who masquerade as Christians or servants of God. God wants you to repent and live a righteous life. You will not get the things of God by being prayed for by different people. You have to love God with all your heart and be committed to serving Him. It will not help you going around looking for somebody to deliver you or to prophesy to you if you are not prepared to leave your sins behind and follow Christ. I see many people who say we just want to be prayed for and they refuse to let go of the things of darkness. These are people who go around receiving demons from the false prophets and their lives become worse.
Satan is a deceiver and so are his servants
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works”. II Corinthians 11:13-15 NKJV. When you read this Issue you will hear of people who were deceived and they thought that they were following the right way. Remember that when the enemy comes to you he will not always show you his true identity. The servants of the devil will pray in the name of Jesus. They will even call fire and they will even do wonders like the magicians of Egypt. The demons are also able to come to you and pretend to be the spirit of God. This is so common to people who were into ancestral worship or who come from families of witchdoctor and false prophets.
When the devil sees that they have left him for Christ, he then appears to them in what will be acceptable to them. He will then talk to them with dreams and visions which they will believe are from God. The evil spirits will talk to you as if they are the Spirit of God. Like what happened in the case of Dr Ramoshaba whose testimony is on this Issue. The evil spirit that wanted him to be a prophet was a spirit of the devil but the doctor believed he was talking to God. He suffered a lot in the hands of this spirit. Do not give in to these evil spirits. Tests the spirits. Do not play games with the spirit world. Guard your salvation because the enemy will use everything to steal it. When I saw that God had started using me to minister to His people, I prayed to Him earnestly that I do not want any dreams from the devil and that I do not want any communication that does not come from Him. Up until today, I seldom have dreams and if I do have one, it is usually about important things. I did not want to open a door for the evil one to deceive me through dreams and visions. I only want that which is from God and nothing else. Testimonies like those of Joseph and Dr Ramoshaba encourage us to be extra careful with things of the spirit.
I would like to encourage you to guard your salvation. Do not give it away for the love of things. Trust upon the Lord for your life and pray to Him to lead you on the right path. First seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the other things shall follow (Matthew 6:33). Stay away from those who are sent to destroy you. Check the people you associate with and break away from those who are trying to influence your life negatively. Do not sell your inheritance but hold on to what Jesus bought for you through His Blood, and that is your salvation. Nobody and nothing is worth you losing your relationship with God.
