Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. And the LORD had given the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus, they plundered the Egyptians. Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children. A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds—a great deal of livestock Scripture reading: Exodus 12: 35-38 NKJV

Most Christians have a tendency of embracing poverty because they believe that it shows humility. In doing so they have neglected the benefits of the works of the cross because the Lord Jesus became poor so that we may be rich. He suffered so that we may live in abundance. Through the blood of Jesus, we have inheritance in the treasures of the Kingdom, therefore we can no longer allow ourselves to live in lack. It is time for Christians to stand up and seize the riches that have already been provided for through the blood of Jesus. In the Scripture quoted above, we read about how Moses commanded the Israelites to plunder the wealth of the Egyptians when they departed the land of Egypt.

The Israelites were slaves to the Egyptians for many years, doing hard labour with no pay. When the Lord decided to deliver them from the hand of Pharaoh the evil King of Egypt, He commanded the Israelites to slaughter the lambs and put the blood on their door posts. The destroyer was to pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. The blood was the sign for where the Israelites were and because of the blood they were saved from the angel of death. Secondly, when the Israelites left Egypt, they did not leave empty handed. The Lord commanded them to ask for the wealth of the Egyptians because He had made them favourably disposed toward the Israelites. They took the articles of silver, gold and clothing, thus plundering the Egyptians.

Even today, we are still getting saved through the blood. However, we no longer need the blood of the animals like the Israelites to be saved. Our Lord Jesus shed His blood for us bringing reconciliation of man to God. Jesus became our perfect lamb dying on the cross and taking away our inequities, thereby bringing salvation, deliverance and blessings. He became the ultimate sacrifice, taking our position in this world so that by receiving Him we could be raised to glory. The blood of Jesus does not only bring salvation and deliverance; it also brings provision and restoration of wealth. Receiving the Lord Jesus as a personal Saviour qualifies one to receive treasures as well.

Child of God, when you have received the Lord Jesus you need to refuse to live in poverty! Do not listen to everyone who says that Christians are supposed to be poor. Those are just lies from the pits of hell trying to rob you from your inheritance. You do not need to suffer anymore; you need to be enriched. The Lord understands that you need riches to worship Him with your offerings. How would you offer sacrifices to the Lord if you are always broke? How would you advance the gospel of Jesus Christ if you do not have money? Wake up child of God and take over your treasures. They are already there, everything you need is already at your disposal.

The Lord says silver and gold are His (Haggai 2:8) and as the heir of the Kingdom you have a share in those riches. It is already provided for you. The Lord is setting you up for success. Your life is going to be promoted, the Lord will cause you to receive favour. At your workplace where they had vowed that you will not receive promotion, the Lord will cause them to promote you. The people who have been refusing to approve your business proposal, the Lord will make them to approve it. It will happen through the Spirit of the Lord. Receive favour, wealth and grace in the name of Jesus!
