Exodus 3: 5-6 “Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God”. The events in the cited scripture took place at Horeb, where Moses was tending his father in law’s flock. The Lord spoke to him through a flame of fire in the midst of a bush. Even though the bush was engulfed in flames, it was strangely not getting consumed. When Moses drew closer to examine this phenomenon, he heard a voice commanding him to take off his sandals because he had stepped on holy ground. Shoes collect dirt every time one steps with them, thus they are dirty. There are times in every person’s life when one has to take off their sandals in order to experience God. In this sense I am not talking about the physical sandals that we put on our feet. I am talking about the sandals of sin. Sin separates us from God, and it results in death. Separation from God can only be remedied by receiving Jesus, who is the only way to the Father in heaven. If you are not saved, you need to heed the Word of the Lord today. Take off your sandals of sin and receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour. The Kingdom of God has come; God has appeared to you in the form of this message to save you. Even if you have backslidden and you are no longer sure about your salvation, you need to make sure that you are in the right standing with God by receiving Jesus. Say this prayer of repentance so that you can receive Jesus and start seeing God: Father, here I come before you. I know I have sinned. Forgive me of all my sins. Lord Jesus, come into my life and save me. Heal my life and deliver me. I now know that the old has passed and the new has come. You are now my Lord and Saviour, and my name is written in the book of life. Thank you Lord for saving me. If you have just prayed this prayer, you are a new creation in Christ and you now belong to the family of God. For If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you are saved (Romans 10:9).
