18th Unity 40 Days Fasting Sermon Day 3: YOU ARE MOVING FROM ONE LEVEL OF GLORY TO ANOTHER

2 Corinthians 3:1-18 “…Now if the dispensation of death engraved in letters on stone [the ministration of the Law], was inaugurated with such glory and splendor that the Israelites were not able to look steadily at the face of Moses because of its brilliance, [a glory] that was to fade and pass away, Why should not the dispensation of the Spirit [this spiritual ministry whose task it is to cause men to obtain and be governed by the Holy Spirit] be attended with much greater and more splendid glory?...”
Before the Lord Jesus came, only a few people were qualified to be in the presence of God to receive instruction from Him. At Mount Sinai, only Moses was called to the top of the mountain to spend time with God, and the rest of the Israelites were left behind. However, that all changed when Christ came. When He gave up His spirit, a curtain of the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:50-51). His death gave many access to the presence of God. This means that all those who receive Jesus as Lord are now qualified to enter into the Holy of Holies, where Jehovah God dwells and have communion with Him.

When you decide to spend time with God through prayer and fasting, you receive instruction from Him just like Moses did when he was on the mountain. However, the words of God will not be inscribed on the tablets of stone but in your heart by the Spirit of God. This means you shall know the will of God for your life wherever you go. Not only will the Spirit of God teach you His will but you will also be covered by the glory of God. When Moses came down from the mountain his face was radiant and Aaron and the Israelites were afraid to come near him (Exodus 34:30) such that Moses covered his face with a veil when he spoke to them.

Even though God’s glory covered Moses when he came back, it was soon to fade away. This was a symbol of the passing away of the law that was on the tablets. If what was fading away was inaugurated with so much glory, how much greater is the glory of the gospel of salvation, one that never fades away? Should we not expect to see more beauty now that God writes his laws on the tablets of our hearts and not on stone? Sadly, some people are still holding on to the old covenant and are unable to see the beauty of Jesus. The same vail that prevented the Israelites from seeing God’s glory in Moses’ face still covers them.

This vail is only stripped whenever one repents and receives the Lord Jesus Christ. They start seeing the glory of the gospel in the face of Jesus Christ. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom (verse 17). If those with unveiled faces keep gazing on the face of the Lord, they transform into His image and gradually become like Him. This means that your life cannot remain the same once you have seen Jesus. First, you die to your old self and stop living in sin. It is impossible to continue in your old ways when you have seen Him.

When people provoke you, you will not be easily angered because nothing will qualify to take you away from His presence. Like David, you shall continually desire to gaze upon His beauty all the days of your life (Psalm 27:4). Secondly, the more you see His beauty is the more you yearn to practice righteousness. With the Holy Spirit living inside of us, we are able to conquer sin and live in purity. We are no longer like the Israelites who used to sin all the time and slaughter animals for the forgiveness of their sins. The Holy Spirit leads us.

Some people continue living in disobedience, slander, gossip, fornication, adultery even though they come to church. Their old self remains intact because they do not allow themselves to be transformed into the likeness of Christ. If you allow yourself to be transformed into His likeness it means that people will see Jesus in you. They are going to see goodness manifesting in your life and through your life. You are going to shine amongst wicked people. Light shall cover you even as darkness covers the earth. You shall move in righteousness in this wicked generation. People are going to refer to you whenever they talk about true Christianity.

Thirdly, we shall begin to see great things happening in your life. You shall prosper in your Christian life, career, studies, and in your business. You shall testify of the goodness of the Lord in all areas of your life. Your testimonies shall not remain on the same standard as the Lord shall continue adding more and more to your life. You will excel in everything and people around shall see it. Such manifestations are not dependent on your level of education or your background, but on what the Spirit of God qualifies you to receive. The Lord is not a respecter of persons. Whoever seeks Him deeply shall find Him in His secret place. Everything good will be happening in your life.

Most people do evil things to be successful and end up having regrets and anxiety. But you shall receive true success with no sorrow attached to it. The brilliance of God on you shall attract many to the Kingdom of Christ. People will begin to listen to what you have to say and you shall begin to lead. A city on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). You are not only going to lead around you, but in your workplace, your school, and your neighborhood.

Believe in this word because the Lord watches over His Word to ascertain that it is fruitful (Isaiah 55:11). His Word is always accompanied by signs and wonders. The world shall know that there are true children of God when they see his light in your life and they shall marvel. You shall move from one level of glory to another.
