RISE UP AND WALK FROM YOUR CRIPPLED SITUATION

In the whole book of Acts we read about the experiences of the Apostles. They were told not to depart from Jerusalem before they could receive the Promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father. Indeed He came on the day of Pentecost and they got filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and started performing signs and wonders in the name of Jesus. The Apostles after the impartation started healing the sick and raised the dead.

The book of Acts 3:1-10 gives us an account of Peter and John who met a crippled beggar on their way to the temple. The man was lame from birth and he was relying on people to carry him to the Gate named Beautiful, where he was used to begging for alms from those who went into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John, he expected them to give him alms as the others always did.

But they did not have what he wanted and in verse 6 Peter responded by saying “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Immediately he received strength on his feet and ankles and he stood and walked. The people at the temple were amazed because they could recognise him as the one who was lame.

This man was in a depressed state because he could not do much for himself. His legs could not carry him and he depended on people for his daily survival. He had never experienced the joy of walking on his own and doing things for himself because he was lame from birth. The donations could not help him because he still remained crippled despite what they gave him.

Peter and John offered him something greater than what he was begging for. They believed in the God who had promised them that those who believe in His name will lay hands on the sick and they will get healed (Mark 16:18) They believed in the power of the name of Jesus.

All those who are filled with the Holy Spirit know that there is no other name like the name of Jesus. Jesus is the one who performs signs and wonders through those who believe in Him. We know that things change when we call upon the name of Jesus.

My brethren, also in your case, you need to believe in the name of Jesus Christ. For His name can do wonders in your life. That situation that you are in will not remain permanent. The Lord will change it for you. Just agree when I say to you "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Rise up from that crippled state in the name of Jesus!

Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk
