Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him. Scripture Reference: Genesis 26:12-14 (NKJV)

Many people go round from one church to another because they are confused. They do not know what they want. If you keep on looking for blessings in places other than your church you will end up getting lost. You will end up in "Egypt", a land of slavery and extreme harshness.

In the book of Luke 15:11-32, Jesus shared about the parable of a prodigal son. This son requested his inheritance from his father. He ended up being poor after wasting his fortune. He thought of returning home. The prodigal son was a lost sheep. He left his own land because of searching for contentment outside his father’s house.

He ended up losing everything he had to an extent where he ate with pigs. This parable teaches us that we ought to be content with what the Lord has given us. Appreciate what the Lord has given you. Be a child and obey the Lord, also obey your pastor. In Genesis 26, Isaac was obedient to God just like his father Abraham and he received the covenant promises. There is connection between obedience and blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).

Like Isaac, may you dwell in the land where the Lord has planted you. May you prosper like Him. May your peers envy your prosperity in the name of Jesus Christ!
