There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar. Then the Lord appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. Scripture Reference: Genesis 26:1-3 (NKJV)

In the verses referred above, the Lord spoke to Isaac and it was the time of famine. Isaac obeyed the Lord and stayed in the land that was not producing anything, and the Lord blessed him indeed. Isaac sowed in that land and reaped a hundred fold. He began to prosper until he was very prosperous. God performed a miracle where it was dry. The Lord enabled Isaac to be so prosperous to an extent where the Philistines envied him; they wanted him out of their land because they saw him mightier than them.

Child of God, the Lord has sent you on a great mission wherever you are, be it in your business, at your workplace or at school. You might find people doing things the way of the world in that position you are sent, but you are a child of God, do not join them.

Do not bow down to their gods. Do not join them but you should utterly destroy their sacred stones. You might be in a company or in a business that is going under recession, but, like Isaac you shall flourish in that condition.

However, you flourishing shall come only if you obey the Lord’s commands and not doing things as the world does. When you walk in obedience you open up a dam of blessings to come your way.

Child of God, the Lord does not want you to be powerless, but to take over and overtake wherever you are placed. God wants you to walk in authority. This is not about how much you have failed but it is about the advancement of the Kingdom of God. You are chosen to advance the Kingdom of God wherever you are.

You are placed in that business, in that job or in that school for a reason. Thus never look down on yourself because God sent you here on earth for a great purpose. Obey Him and you will see yourself succeeding in adverse conditions.
