Another servant of God, Dr Rebecca Brown said clearly in her book He came to set the captives free, that “any dealing with Satan opens a doorway in a person’s life for the inflow of satanic power and/ or demon infestation. Whether the person is a Christian or a non-Christian makes no difference.” She continued to say that “these doorways (created by sin) give Satan legal ground, according to God’s word (Bible), to exert his power in their lives. Christians are not protected because the opening of these doorways involves their conscious participation in sin and / or ignorance.”

Dr Rebecca also said in one of her books, Prepare for war, “normally Christians are hedged about so that demons cannot get into them. Non-Christians are also protected to a certain extent in that the Lord does not allow demons to violate their free wills. An opening must be made in the protective hedge before demons can get into a person to actually dwell in their bodies in both cases of Christians and non-Christians.” She also said, “Sin breaks a hole in the protective hedge many times allowing a demon to actually enter into the person committing the sin.” We call such holes doorways.

The demons are assigned to a person born in a family where from either parent, there was a person who was initiated as a witch doctor, or there was witchcraft practice, or royal or business family rituals.

Firstly, in the case of where someone went to be initiated as a witch doctor, the witch doctor is given powers by the devil to deceive people. They in return dedicate the family to the devil and his demons. Meaning that if you are born in that family, you inherit evil spirits that were dedicated to you through a covenant signed during the initiation. Continuous rituals and sacrifices are made to satisfy these false gods.

Secondly, when you are born in a royal house where someone in the family consulted the agents of the devil, to seek powers to strengthen the royal house, there are demons dedicated to the family through such agreements made in exchange of powers. Continuous rituals and sacrifices are made to satisfy these false gods.

Thirdly, when a family which has businesses consults the agents of the devil like false prophets and witch doctors for charms to strengthen their businesses. Being born in such families, you are also dedicated to the evil spirits in exchange for power. When evil spirits are in a person’s life, they torment that person. As the Word of God says, the devil has come into the world to kill, steal and destroy. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) ESV.

Being born in such families, you are assigned spirits that just torment you. They can block prosperity, causing poverty in families, sicknesses that cannot be cured, joblessness, and failure at school and in business. If you do not know for sure whether your family was or is still involved in these practices, try to find out if there was ever a witch doctor in your family generation so you can close the door that was opened by that person through his or her practices.

The Word of God says that we should avoid wicked customs. “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.” Deuteronomy 18:10-13 People who come from a family of witch doctors are often tormented by dreams of:

It is not easy to find out if your family is indeed involved in witchcraft. Some people who are dedicated to these spirits of witchcraft might not even know it. They would think that the strange things they do or those that happen to them are normal. They would think that is what every person experiences.

This is how you can know if your family is involved in witchcraft

Solution: You need to do a separation prayer to ask God to separate you from these spirits. This is how you should pray: “Father God, forgive my forefathers for being witches or witch doctors. Forgive me also for being a witch or witch doctor (if you were initiated as one). Forgive me also for not living right (if you have not been living right). Separate me from these evil spirits of the family. Destroy all the covenants that were made on my behalf when I was young.

You should say this prayer so that the covenant can be broken. If you were initiated as a witch doctor, you need to have the tools burned and destroyed in a church which worships the Lord Jesus Christ. This way you would be separating yourself from these inherited spirits.

The Word of God says that we should not consult spirit mediums. Consulting spirit mediums is a sin before God. When we read the book of Leviticus 19:31, “Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits, do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 19:31) (NKJV). God was also not happy about King Saul when he consulted a medium to enquire from the dead Prophet Samuel. (1 Sam 28:3-20). You open a doorway for the demons when you consult spirit mediums like witch doctors, palm readers, herbalists and false prophets. These spirits are also invited into your life if you are just born in a family which consults such mediums. You should not seek help from these agents of the devil. Seek help from the Lord God, the creator of heaven and earth. Reading horoscopes is also an ungodly act. Separate yourself from all these acts. Get rid of all good luck charms and even the leaflets that advertise herbalists or prophets who can help you find a “lost lover”. All the acts of seeking instant wealth are ungodly including, gambling, playing the lottery, partaking in casino games, and playing cards. Consulting a palm reader is a sin, you invite evil spirits by consulting this agent of the devil. Gambling is an abomination before God. There are evil spirits which torment you and also attack your finances. There are leaflets that people get from street corners of crowded places, mainly at traffic lights talking about creams that will help enlarge your manhood. These are deceptions that the enemy is currently using to lure the people of God. Be content with what you have. These things shall bring more curses into your life and family. After consulting these mediums some people start having:

Solution: You need to ask God to separate you from these spirits. This is how you should pray: “Father God, forgive my forefathers for consulting and making me consult spirit mediums, forgive me also for consulting spirit mediums (if you were consulting). Forgive me also for not living right (if you have not been living right). Separate me from these evil spirits. Destroy all the covenants that were made on my behalf when I was young or that I made with these sprits through consultation”    Get rid of all the connections from these agents of the devil You need to make up your mind never to make contact with these mediums again. Everything that you got from them whether it is ropes to tie around your waist, “muthi” (traditional medicine), “zwiwasho” and ancestral cloths, should be taken to a church that worships the Lord Jesus Christ and be destroyed with fire.                                           Get rid of all the tools such as ropes, bangles, ancestral bangles, ancestral beads and charms which you received from the agents of the devil, take them to a church where they can be burnt and destroyed in the Name of Jesus. If you are wearing anything that you got from the spirit mediums (ropes, “zwipandla”, goat skin wrist bracelet, ancestral bangles, ancestral beads, etc.), please do not stay home with them because the spirits will access you again through them. Have them removed and destroyed in a church that glorifies Jesus Christ.

If you come from a family that has been attending a false church or you have been a member of a false church, the evil spirits of those churches have a hold on you. When one becomes a member in an occult church, he/she enters into a covenant with evil spirits. These evil spirits are able to control and torment that person, for their soul has been dedicated to the cult.                                        When you attend these false or cultic churches, you are given evil tools which are assigned to demons to track you and block your prosperity. You must get rid of the ropes from the cultic churches and agents of the devil. Have them burned and destroyed. You might ask yourself a question like, “How would I know if I am attending a false church?” False churches are those that do not worship God but worship their leaders. These are churches where you would be asked to go to rivers or use ropes, evil (“zwiwasho”), bewitched waters, etc. as a form of protection. These churches say that you can worship God and ancestors. They also allow you to perform rituals to appease evil spirits (calling them ‘amadlozi’). They also encourage you to consult your forefathers for luck and not rely only on God alone. The Bible, in these kinds of churches, is only read by the leader.

Solution: You need to ask God to separate you from these spirits. This is how you should pray: “Father God, forgive my forefathers for getting into a covenant with evil spirits of occults. Forgive me also for getting into a covenant with evil spirits of occults (if you are or were a member in those churches). Forgive me also for not living right (if you have not been living right) Separate me from these evil spirits. Destroy all the covenants that were made on my behalf when I was young or that I made with these spirits.”

Make sure you don’t go back to these churches Now you should take all these things which connect you to these churches, to any spirit-filled church of Jesus Christ to burn and destroy them. These include uniforms, tea, clothes and ropes which have been planted in your houses and cars, photos of these leaders, and badges; basically whatever you can find that connects you to these spirits. Attend a spirit-filled church of Jesus Christ Some may say; “But I just bought the tea and took it to the church to be prayed for”. That too can connect you to the cultic church because the spirits were transferred to the items which you bought. If you remain with them, those spirits will always torment you. You should ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to a spirit-filled church that worships the true God and believes in His Son, Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. A church which allows you to read the Bible and pray every day.

Don’t even listen to their music  Some may say, “I do not attend these churches anymore, but I continue to listen to their music.” Get rid of all the things that draw you back to the cult. Purify yourself by spending time in the Word of God through reading the Holy Bible.

This is when you come from families which believe in ancestors, families which host rituals to appease evil spirits (“imisebenzi”). Families which communicate with the dead people and visit graveyards to talk to the evil spirits of the dead. Some may disguise the real act of these rituals and say its “thanksgiving”. They may even get confused thinking it’s godly, but it is not, it is actually giving thanks to the ancestors (“amadlozi”) for their prosperity. They may even say they are thanking their dead parent or parents for what they have and for the protection. This is pure deception. If you contribute financially or anyhow including cooking at these events, you are being part of it. You are affirming a covenant to have the enemy reign in your household.

Do not partake in these rituals disguised as tombstone unveiling ceremonies or thanksgiving parties. In some of these events people perform rituals to invite spirits of the dead, which will eventually require blood by killing family members every year.

The Word of God says that when someone is dead, he or she is dead; they have nothing to do with the living, as said in Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, “For the living know they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more rewards, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also, their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished.” (NKJV).

This would mean that those dead relatives, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents that you see in your dreams are not your relatives. Those are familiar spirits which tormented your forefathers and they still want to torment you. They disguise themselves as your grandparents, so you can accept them in your life. People who communicate with the dead or are dedicated to those spirits by the family experience some of the following:

Solution: You need to say a separation prayer asking God to separate you from those spirits. This is how you should pray: “Father God, forgive my forefathers for worshipping the ancestors.

Forgive me also for being an ancestral worshipper (if you are or were an ancestral worshipper)  Forgive me also for not living right (if you have not been living right). Separate me from these evil spirits. Destroy all the covenants that were made on my behalf when I was young or that I made with these spirits.

Do not partake in these rituals

From now on, you should not participate in these rituals. You should not contribute monetarily. Some may say,” I will not go, but I will just send my money.” That is considered as participation, you have acknowledged that ritual by giving your money. You should not eat their food during these events, as it is food dedicated to those evil spirits of the dead. You should not say,” I will sit aside while they go and speak to the dead.” By so doing, you will be acknowledging the ritual and the ancestors. You should not go to these places at all. Refuse when you are invited, tell them that you are now a Child of God.

You should not accompany others when they go to the graveyard to talk to the dead. You should not allow any communication to happen between you and those spirits. Now that you know the truth, those are not your ancestors that you were communicating with, but evil spirits. Satan can disguise himself and show you ‘things of God’, for example, showing you verses to read, telling you to wake up and pray, showing you people’s problems and that you should pray for them. Showing you things in the church, in your life and the lives of other people that have not yet happened and would come to pass. The devil will even make you believe that you are a prophet or a Servant of God, making you accept his call in order to operate through it.

This is how you will know that you have accepted the call of the devil:

You should destroy all the altars (“Ndumba”) that were created for worshiping the ancestors including the tools that are used during those ceremonies. If you have ancestral bangles (isiphandla) or ancestral beads, please do not keep them at home with you, as they will connect you to the evil spirits.

Other abominations that are common in African cultures

You are being deceived by the enemy, disguised in the form of culture or tradition.

By naming your child after the dead with the reason that the baby cried for this name, you are officially appointing the demons that were operating through that dead person to now reside in your child. You have surrendered your child to such. This is an agreement that you make on your child’s behalf.

Children are gifts and blessings from God. Dedicate your children back to the Services of God, like Hannah dedicated her son, Samuel.

Strengthening of babies by cutting their bodies (“Rigoni”), be it on the forehead, nape of the neck, chest and anywhere else in their body. These are done with razors and other items to spill blood. What you are actually doing is a sin before God, the Giver of that child as a gift to you. You dedicate the child to evil spirits. Traditional circumcision or initiation schools for boys (“vungoma”) and girls (“vukhoba”). These are all the works of the agents of the devil. What they do in those places, are a pure abomination against God Almighty. Do not send your children for circumcision in the mountains. These are initiations into the kingdom of darkness. If you want to have your boys circumcised, take them straight to a medical doctor or hospital not to places where these things involve witch doctors or herbalists.

We are going to look at a few sexual immoral activities:

5.1 Adultery is a sin before God “You must not commit adultery.” Exodus 20:14(NLT) Adultery is the act of sexual intercourse between a married man and someone other than his wife, or sexual intercourse between a married woman and someone other than her husband. Adultery violates the bond of the marriage union. “Give honour to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery” (Hebrews 13:4). “Do not defile yourself by having sexual intercourse with your neighbor’s wife”. Leviticus 18:20 (NLT)

5.2 Fornication / Premarital sex is a sin before God

Fornication is a sexual misconduct or sexual impurity outside of the bounds of marriage. Fornication is sleeping with a man or woman that you are not married to. It is when you sleep with a man that is the father of your child or children, but you are not married to him. When you have a boyfriend or girlfriend and engage in sexual intercourse. When you stay with someone who has just paid a portion of dowry (“lobola”), for you. Engaging in sexual immorality without a marriage certificate, even if you have been together for a long time and you have kids together, is called cohabitation. You are a fornicator, even if you are old. It is fornication, and you are committing a sin before God. “But Fornication, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as you become saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient…” (Ephesians 5:3-5 KJV)

Now that you are a new creation, the Spirit of God resides inside of you. You are a temple of the Holy Ghost. “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from Fornication: that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour…” (1Thessalonians 4:3-4) KJV

Masturbation is the stimulation of one’s own genitals, which is most often accompanied by lustful thoughts. Many men and women stimulate their minds with mental fantasies or pornographic imagery to accompany their masturbation, and these are practices that violate the Biblical principle that we should focus our minds on what is good, doing all to the glory of God. This is a sin before God.

This is an erotic attraction to persons of one’s own sex. Homosexuality includes sexual thoughts, feelings, fantasies, and overt sexual acts with same-sex partners. A homosexual act is any behaviour that involves engaging, even occasionally, in sexually stimulating actions with another person of the same sex. Both males are called gays and both females are called lesbians. “Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22).

Solutions for Sexual immorality

As we have seen, fornication, adultery, lust, and other forms of non-marital sex are condemned in the Scripture and described as sin. As a Christian, you are obliged to forsake sin and follow the teachings of Christ. Attempting to maintain a Christian life while engaging in sinful sexual practices is a contradiction. If the sexual immorality continues, one’s spiritual vitality and influence are certain to decline. Sin must be confessed and forsaken if one is to expect spiritual growth and avoid spiritual stagnation. This is a clear statement, abstain, and stop adultery today. Stop Fornication. Leave that man or woman. You can only stay together once you are married and have a marriage certificate. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Stop sexual immorality today.

Offer your body as a Holy sacrifice

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, * I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice- the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t imitate the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect”. (Romans 12:1-2) NLT

God wants us to offer ourselves, as living sacrifices daily laying aside our energy and resources at His disposal and trusting Him to guide us. We do this out of gratitude that our sins have been forgiven. God has good, pleasing and perfect plans for His children.

When you are a child of God, you do not live anyhow. You need to know that we represent the Kingdom of God.  You should live a holy life. When you are a child of God, you should attend services regularly, pray every day and also read the Word of God daily. Participate in activities in a church. As Children of God, we should get rid of the sinful lifestyle of lying, stealing, and cheating. We ought to be faithful in all your activities. Evil spirits can get in through these doorways.

A Christian should not smoke nor drink alcohol, as said in Ephesians 5:18, “Don’t be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead be filled with the Holy Spirit.” NLT. Drunkenness is suggested because it is a work of darkness, it is the foe to vigilance and earnestness, and it leads all who yield to it to act unwisely.

We should not have tattoos, as they connect us to the spirits of devil worshiping.  “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 19:28) Even if you wrote the name of your mother or even the word Jesus, it remains a tattoo and the Lord says: “do not cut your bodies.”

But if you already have one, ask the Lord Jesus to separate you from any spirits that are connected to that tattoo.

Body Piercing: We can only pierce our ears as women. Men are not supposed to pierce at all. Can you imagine a male wearing earrings? That is a spirit of confusion. It is not godly to pierce your tongue, eyebrow, lip, belly and the chin. Actually it looks ungodly to pierce other parts of your body other than the lower earlobe.

Dressing up: We do not wear clothes which reveal our bodies. We need to be presentable at all times, whether at church, home or work.

Demonised Hairstyles: You should not grow your hair as dreadlocks as they connect you to the spirits of Rastafarianism, which is one of the highest ranks of Satanism. Even witch doctors grow their hair into dreadlocks when they are being initiated into witchcraft.

“Do not trim off the hair on your temples or trim your beards.” (Leviticus 19:27).  There are Mohawk styles, which originate from the Iroquois-speaking tribe. We must understand the Iroquois’ spiritual beliefs. Whether a person wears a Mohawk, based upon its origin, that person wears a hairstyle in honour and worship to other gods inspired by demonic spirits instead of the Lord Jesus Christ. So be careful with these hairstyles, which will attract these evil spirits into your life. The devil will have access to you and your possessions through these styles that are for His Kingdom.

This just shows how much the Lord Jesus loves you. Rest assured, all is well with you. Trust that God has done a great work in you. Some of you might still feel like you have those pains. The devil might try to whisper that it is not done. Let me tell you, it is done through the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil is a liar and has been defeated. Your deliverance is guaranteed; just believe in the Lord Jesus. As a child of God, there are few things that I would like you to remember:

You have a new life in Jesus Christ: God has given you a new life, but do not expect to be different all at once. Just as a new baby has to grow and learn, so God is going to work in you and help you grow.

You have begun a relationship that will continue the rest of your life: (Col 2:6-7) “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth that you were taught, and you will overflow withthankfulness.”

You have the privilege of prayer: Just as good friends can talk to each other, so God, your heavenly Father, wants you to talk to him. And, while you may not understand it right now, you’ll find that he “talks” to you as well.

You can pray to God about anything and everything. He wants to hear from you. Philippians 4:6 “Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

You have the treasure of God’s Word. When buying a new gadget, you usually get an instruction manual. With your new life in Christ, you need God’s instruction manual, the Bible. In fact, the communication you “hear” from God will often come as you read his Word.

You can trust God’s Word for any breakthrough
